Low Cost Spay/Neuter

Cheap Spay Neuter as a way of managing the cat (and dog) population has not taken off in Canada the way it has in the US but there are some cheaper spay/neuter clinics around as well as some vets that are much cheaper.

Rules governing vets mean they do not post their prices but call around, there can be a huge difference in pricing even within a small area.  Most shelters will know of a lower cost solution to spay/neuter pets and are aware of the vet pricing so you could also try calling your local humane society.  They may also run a low cost clinic themselves.

Please note that almost all clinics will require at least the rabies vaccination be brought up to date before surgery, check with them on how much this will cost, sometimes the extras will mean that you will pay more at a low cost clinic than at your regular vet.
