In research sponsored by Friskies cat food, animal behaviour scientist Jill Villarreal gave 50 house cats collar cameras that took a photo every 15 minutes, Associated Press reports. Some of the leading ways the cats occupied themselves:

• Looking out of windows– 22% of the time
• Interacting with other family pets – 12%
• Climbing on furniture – 8%
• Sleeping, looking at television or other media, hiding under tables – each 6%
• Playing with toys – 5%
• Eating or looking at food – 4%

I have always wondered what they get up to when I am not home

I met Tracker at an Open House at Global Pet Foods in Burlington.  Tracker, the Bed Bug Tracker is a sweet boy and everyone seemed to be having fun teaching him bad manners and playing with him in the store.

However, Tracker does seem very good at what he does, his handler hid little jars with a bedbug in each around the store and Tracker was quick to find even the single bedbugs, despite the casing over them.   Tracker is available to inspect Hotels, Hostels, Apartments, Hospitals, Long Term Care Facilities, Nursing Homes and anywhere else in the GTA.

Personally, I prefer my animals to be pets, but Tracker does seem to enjoy what he does and like rescue dogs and K9 units, he does provide a valuable service.

I often surf the web or see something on television that I would love for my pets, but is simply not available in Canada and this blog is dedicated to those pets who are missing out and will review products available in Canada as well as listing events and other pet related Canadian information.

At some point I would also like to try and compile a comprehensive list of animal rescue groups, I know I would find it invaluable in my volunteer work at an animal shelter so I am sure others would too!
