Looking for that special something for the pet lover this Christmas, most shelters and humane societies offer gift memberships or gift donations. Give the gift that keeps on giving – to their favourite animal charity.
The money you would spend on a typical Christmas gift can go a long way for a shelter, many also offer animal or cage sponsorship with updates on the animal sponsored being sent to the giftee.
Think about volunteering some time over Christmas, when many other volunteers may have family commitments and not be able to spend as much time with the animals as they usually do – even your time can be valuable to an animal shelter and is a great way to spend time with your family too.
Most shelters also have a wishlist of simple items like newspapers and litter, remember the animals in your Christmas giving!
